Grinding machine for sickle-shaped and circular knives KNECHT A 950 II

The requirements for crescent and circular knives used in high-performance slicers are very high. The knives must have precisely sharpened edges, perfect cutting angles, and accurate geometry of the cutting edge. And this must be achieved with repeatable precision throughout the entire lifespan of the cutting tools. Precisely sharpened knives enable perfect cutting and precise arrangement of products with a smear-free surface. KNECHT’s sharpening machines for crescent and circular knives ensure the highest quality in grinding and shaping the gear teeth.

Advantages

Grinding and deburring

The A 950 III operates with powered grinding tools. As a result, the slicer knives are ground with precisely defined edges. The grinding pressure is applied pneumatically. It can be exactly regulated. The material removal on the knife is minimal.

Drive

The slicer knives are driven by a servo drive on the outer contour. That means that the A 950 III has the same feed rate at every point of the cutting edge. The blade retains the exact same shape over its entire service life. The servo drive ensures perfect cutting edges.

Circular knives up to 700 mm (27.5 in)

The A 950 III grinds circular knives of all brands from diameters of 300 - 700 mm (11.8 - 27.5 in) with single and double beveled edges. The same also applies here: Precise edges, perfect cutting angles.

Operation

The A 950 III is easy to operate via touch panel. For each slicer knife an individual grinding program, consisting of number of grinding cycles, the chosen cutting angle and the required abrasives is created and saved. When the program is called, the required cutting angle and the necessary abrasives are shown on the display. The machine sets automatically the number of saved grinding cycles. The number of grinding programs is unlimited.

Applications

The A 950 II grinds sickle-shaped knives of all brands up to 900 mm (35.4 in) and circular knives up to diameter 700 mm (27.5 in). The machine is simple and easy to operate via touch panel.

The grinding angle is set electrically between -5° and 35° and is infinitely variable. The repeat accuracy is 0.1 degrees. Calling up the grinding program, the A 950 II automatically sets itself to the saved angle.

A coolant unit with a capacity of 20 l efficiently prevents the cutting tools from overheating during the grinding process.
