Sharpening tool KNECHT USK 160S

Sharpeners for guillotine knives

Sharpness, cutting angle, shape, and profile of the guillotine knife have a significant impact on the quality of the manufactured products. High cutting speeds of up to 180 meters per second (equivalent to 650 kilometers per hour) and lateral pressures impose heavy mechanical loads on guillotine knives. Therefore, a polished cutting edge of the guillotine knife directly influences its resistance to cracking.

Hand grinders have a universal application for all popular guillotine knives, as well as circular, hand, and other cutting tools. During the grinding process, the cutting tools are continuously clamped in the holders, ensuring safe and precise guidance. The result is a long lifespan of the cutting edges.

Automatic sharpeners provide accurate and precisely curved edges while preserving the cutting profile and the original shape of the blade throughout the entire lifespan of the guillotine knives. The sharpening processes, depending on the machine type, can be performed without manual intervention, ensuring consistently high quality of the guillotine knives.

Applications

The universal wet grinding machine USK 160 S is suitable for versatile applications. Its versatility makes it a reliable tool for butcher shops, slaughterhouses, meat processing plants, sharpening services, and others. The machine allows sharpening various cutting tools, such as butcher knives, trimming knives, and cutlery. When combined with HV 150, the machine is specially designed for sharpening hand knives. The wet grinding belt ensures a highly precise cutting tool surface. The profiled rubber contact wheel provides precise grinding resistance to the knife. A pump supplies water to each sharpening station. This prevents the blades from overheating during sharpening. The cooling water binds the abrasive dust, preventing it from circulating in the air and protecting the operator’s respiratory system. The machine can be easily cleaned by rinsing it with water.

Advantages

Ribbed Grinding Wheel

Precision grinding of cutting tools is performed on a water-cooled ribbed grinding wheel. The soft ribs adhere to the knife’s profile. Fine grains gently remove only small amounts of material, thereby protecting the knife.

Wet Honing Disk

The wet honing disk removes burrs caused by sharpening. The result is a sharp knife with a smooth surface and long life. The wet honing disk is cooled with water, preventing the polishing abrasive from entering the environment.

Polishing Disk (optional)

The polishing disk provides a precisely polished and burr-free, very smooth cutting edge. Precisely adjusted surface circumferential speed and optimally balanced resistance of the polishing disk compensate for operational errors.

Attachment for Hand Knife Sharpening HV 150

Knife guides ensure that hand knives are always sharpened at the proper angle. Additional integrated magnets aid in guiding the knife, making the sharpening process incredibly simple. Long-lasting CBN abrasives are water-cooled.

Belt Grinding Attachment HV 161

The belt grinding attachment allows for setting sharp cutting edges on meat chopper knives up to 120 l with minimal effort. This means safe, precise, and fatigue-free work for the operator.

Serrated Grinding Wheel (optional)

Serrated grinding wheels with different divisions enable quick and easy serration of cutlery knives. Cutlery knives are sharpened in three steps: grinding the old profile with the wet grinding belt, serrating on the serrated grinding wheel, and polishing and removing burrs with the polishing disk.
